Emily's Room

I am now almost 38 weeks and ready to meet our little girl. At our 37 week appointment, I was 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced so things are progressing. Hopefully they continue to progress each week and maybe we'll get to meet our little girl before August 18!

So Emily's room is now complete and ready for her arrival. I took some pictures and video to share with everyone. Once she is born, some of the items in her room will get moved to other rooms in the house (i.e., pack & play, bouncer, and swing), but you get the overall idea. Now she just needs to get here!!

227 Days

I realized today that I have been pregnant 227 days. When you sit and think about it, that's a really long time! Now we are on the downhill slide with approximately 53 days to go. Hard to believe we will be parents so soon!

It has been pretty quiet the past few weeks with regards to the pregnancy. Emily is kicking up a storm and losing space to move around very quickly. Jonathan and I started Childbirth Preparation class last week so when the time comes, we hope to be well prepared! My cousins held a surprise baby shower for me last week and we received lots of nice gifts! I've already washed everything and the room is really coming together! Once the room is complete, I'll post pictures. Other than that, we are just waiting for Emily to arrive. I can't wait to hold our baby girl in my arms and tell her how much I love her! It's amazing how much love you can have for one little person.

28 Weeks.... and Counting

It is hard to believe in less than 3 months we will meet our beautiful little girl. The time has flown by! I had my 28 week check up today, which included a glucose screening test (waiting for results), and everything seems to be going well. Emily had the hiccups when the doctor was listening to her heart beat. It was really cute :) My weight and BP were both good, my belly measured 27 cm, and things are progressing smoothly. Because we are getting closer, they moved up my appointments and the next one is in 3 weeks. Before we know it, August will be here!

Jonathan and I purchased Emily's furniture over the weekend and we couldn't be more excited for it to arrive. It will be so nice to have her room come together and to start decorating. Once things come together, we'll be sure to post pictures.

Speaking of which, here is a picture of me at 27.5 weeks. We took this picture this past weekend, right before diving into dinner - steamed crabs! Yummmm!

Baby Bump

For those of you anxiously waiting to see my baby bump, here it is! :) This was taken last weekend at 25 1/2 weeks.

Our Wedding - October 18, 2008

I have been meaning to put our wedding album together for the past 18 months or so and just always put it off to "tomorrow". Today was the day I finally made the effort and all the pictures are picked out! Now I just have to print them and I'll be good to go! I know that once Emily is here, my priorities will change and I either won't have time to devote to our wedding album or what free time I do have will be spent on an Emily album.

Sifting through the many pictures taken by family, friends, and our photographer allowed me to relive the best day of my life . That day was such a whirlwind! I am so thankful that we were able to celebrate our day with family and friends and that we have many pictures to look back and remember the happy day.

Since I was going through all the pictures, I thought I would post some for you to enjoy and relive the day with me....the day I married my best friend.

It's A Girl!

During today's 24 week OB check up, the doctor was very nice and gave us a free sonogram so we could find out the baby's gender. Emily Lynn was not shy at all during this sonogram and we are so exited to meet her in a few months! Finding out the gender was almost as exciting as finding out we were having a baby. Now I can start buying cute pink outfits! :)

The appointment went well. I've put on 6 pounds over the last 4 weeks (holy smokes!) but the doctor said I'm right on track. My belly measured 21 cm, my BP was good, and Emily's heart rate was 150-155. Everything is looking good so far. The next appointment is in 4 weeks and will be the diabetic screening - not so much fun.
