Reflecting on the Past Year

Since we are already 25 days into 2010, I figured it's about time I take a shot at this "blogging" thing everyone is doing. In taking a look back at the past year or so, a lot has happened and my life has flip-flopped in wonderful ways. Jonathan and I got married in October 2008 and I moved from Maryland to Virginia (with two moves occuring in VA). The Steelers won the Super Bowl and the Penguins won the Stanley Cup - woohoo!

We adopted Margarita in February 2009 and have watched her grow from a rambunctious puppy to a slightly less energetic 1 year old dog, who has bursts of energy in the morning and then sleeps all day. We were blessed to be able to go on three vacations this past summer - first on a Disney cruise with Jonathan's parents, then to Myrtle Beach with my parents and finally on a cruise to the Caribbean with Jonathan's immediate and extended family. We celebrated our one year anniversary in Lancaster, PA, where, although the weather was not the greatest, we did a lot of outlet shopping tax-free which is always a good thing! We had our first Thanksgiving dinner at our house with both of our families. The turkey turned out delicious and most everything else was great as well (don't ask about the stuffing). Hopefully everyone enjoyed the meal and we can host Thanksgiving dinner again in the future. Now, as I sit here on January 25, 2010, reflecting on all that has happened in the past year plus, I am thankful for the wonderful families we have and look forward to the adventures and fun times that are ahead this year and pray that God continues to bless us.

This Christmas

Christine and I had a wonderful Christmas and a great new year! We were lucky enough to spend our time with friends and family. Between work and my personal life, this Christmas season went by way to fast. I feel as though I didn't have any time to sit an enjoy the season for its true meaning, the birth of Jesus. As I get older and pick up more responsibilities, I'm sure that this will be the case, but I hope next year I can stop and smell the ginger snaps. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
